Brief description of study
Eosinophilic Esophagitis is a chronic, allergic, inflammatory disorder of the esophagus . The allergic substance, which is called an, ‘allergen’, is often not known, and there may be more than one allergen causing your condition. For people with Eosinophilic Esophagitis, the allergen is usually something in the diet, or something that has been inhaled, which causes chronic, or repeating, episodes of inflammation (tissue swelling) in the esophagus. This inflammation usually results in difficulty swallowing, referred to as ‘dysphagia’ (dis-fay-juh). Other symptoms of Eosinophilic Esophagitis may include a feeling that food is stuck between the throat and stomach, chest pain, or upper abdominal pain.
The purpose of this study is to see if CC-93538 is safe and effective as a possible treatment for Eosinophilic Esophagitis.
