Brief description of study
Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania are working on a study aimed at reducing teens risk for motor vehicle crashes (MVCs). We are looking for parents and teens to participate in a research study designed to identify effective programs
that will help us better understand how to promote safe teen driving behaviors.
Detailed description of study
We are seeking to enroll 1200 parents and teens as pairs into this randomized control trial. Below is a list of activities included in your participation. There is no cost to you. You and your teen will be compensated for your time and effort.
Parents would be
asked to:
· Complete 3 online surveys
· Parents may have access to safe driving
eLearning modules
· Parents may complete 2 virtual health coaching
session's
Teens would be
asked to:
· Complete 6 online surveys
· Record logs about their driving practice
· Teens may have access to safe driving eLearning
modules
· Teens may have an assessment with a certified
driving instructor
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: driving, teen, adoloscent

Eligible pairs will be parents with a teen ages 16-17, living in Pennsylvania, and either are about to receive or just received their
learner’s permit.
